I need faster Internet

Yes I know, my connection is crap. Even upgrading to an 8000/384k plan I have no guarantee my speeds will be much faster than I am currently getting.

It’s 4.20am

It’s now been roughly 36 hours since I had surgery on my shoulder and must say I really wasn’t expecting it to be in this much pain. I really haven’t slept that much so it looks like it will be a case of nap when I can. The pain killers are not doing a whole lot right now and I need to get my shoulder moving a bit more, thats the plan for today anyway.

Work wise it looks like I am off for at least 4 – 6 weeks at this stage, maybe longer. On the up side I should have the time to finish a couple of things I have been working on for quite some time ie: my sons website, my website and more.

The pain killers are starting to work, I’m getting drowsy again so for now this post has finished.

Smoking Update

It has now been a week and a half since I have had a cigarette. I have surprised myself actually. It has been really hard at times but I am determined to stop!

My son’s Karate

Last week was a busy one for my 14 year old Ninja son. Apart from the usual training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights he was chosen to try out for a Sempai course on Thursday (he passed and starts training on Thursday this week). He also had the GKR State Team try outs on Sunday. Although there is alot of running around we actually enjoy the social aspect of it all.

So this week we have training Monday, Wednesday, Sempai training Thursday, Friday and second State Team trials on Sunday.

I’m Quitting!!!!!!!

After many years of being an extremely heavy smoker I have now quit!! It is really hard as I’m not using patches, medication etc, I’m going cold turkey. My last smoke was on Tuesday around 12pm and it’s now Saturday. The cravings have been real nasty at times but so far I have managed to resist.

So why did I decide to quit smoking? Well I am booked in for shoulder surgery on the 18th of this month caused by a work injury back in Oct ’09. So surgery and the fact that smoking was costing me in excess of $100 per week both had help in my decision.

Massive cleanup on PC

I have spent the morning doing a massive cleanup on my PC. Still plenty to do as far as getting rid of a few things but at least the worst is out of the way.

msconfig – stuff no longer starting up

Disk Cleanup – got rid of alot of crap, temporary files etc

Spybot – full scan

Microsoft Security – full scan

Disk Defrag – took ages but things are back in place

My PC is now starting up alot faster than it was but like most PC’s this won’t last.
